The Senior Director is responsible for the leading Enterprise Process improvement team responsible for our multi-year Cost Transformation program. He/she will partner with the VP, Enterprise Optimization in setting the strategic vision, direction, and standards for championing cost transformation in alignment with the changing needs of the business and its members.


He/she will lead the process improvement Center of Excellence (COE) and analyze key performance indicators to set priorities that will drive ongoing development and refinement of the cost transformation roadmap, prioritizing initiatives and work efforts to continually optimize the experience by fostering a test and learn environment.


Additionally, this person will define and report key process-oriented business metrics to senior management and influence the organization to take the right action in response to optimizing business value and customer outcomes. 


Finally, he/she will be responsible for, planning, motivating and providing direction and leadership to matrixed and functional resources within and outside of their reporting structure around experience. He/she will have direct input into the strategic direction of work of others and will gather, support and develop the resources needed to execute long-term business plans and initiatives to prioritize and improve the customer experience.


Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Act as an executive champion, responsible for defining the business transformation and determining the technical capabilities required to enable that transformation.

• Shepherding ideas that generate immediate and near-term cost reduction and transformation benefits, as well as ideas that support innovative, longer-term cost transformation opportunities

• Facilitate buy-in of cost transformation strategies and plan from all levels of management

• Develop and track comprehensive set of metrics to ensure implementation and delivery

• Continuously improve the cost transformation process

• Act as a subject matter expert and provide cost transformation analyses and insights to senior leaders

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and experts

• Organize and facilitate senior executive steering committee and other check-in meetings

• Establishes deep partnerships with key internal stakeholders across the business and creates cross functional processes that enable a consistent and connected experience for customers

• Assesses implications of strategic options before they impact the business.

• Influences key decision makers to challenge conventional practices and instill customer insights into the decision making processes

• Manages internal cross-divisional and external relationships to obtain better business and customer outcomes and drive enterprise profitability

• Design, develops and implements programs and policies at the enterprise/divisional level

• Manages budget


Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

• 8+ years’ professional experience; top tier management consulting firm transformation experience; financial services business management and transformation experience

• 5+ years of deep experience in improvement methodologies such as Lean

• Strong data analytics capabilities especially cost analysis and internal/external benchmarking

• Demonstrate the ability to develop appropriate business models and operating models to drive capabilities to support a cost transformation event

• Able to identify strategies for growth and value creation

• Experience in financial analysis and working with data inputs from multiple sources

• Experience with developing models using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visual Basic, or other tools (Tableau)

• Experience with working with senior executives to develop, define and execute margin improvement strategies with Fortune 500 companies 

• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

• Possession of ability to influence others and lead team


Preferred Skills:


• Demonstrated experience leading cost transformation at a consumer oriented company

• Certified LEAN/Master Black Belt

• Driving improvement initiatives leveraging Lean Innovation best practices

• Demonstrated continuous improvement methodology use to make process changes

• Ability to assess and manage risk; demonstrated use of creativity and innovation to solve problems

• Experience with analytics to evaluate and optimize business processes
